Former professional soccer player Craig Arthur Von Schroeder became a fan of the finely tailored menswear on Savile Row during his time playing in England. But when he returned to the US to practice law, he couldn’t find any high quality, slim fit men’s shirts that were also made in the USA.
So, in 2008, he started Commonwealth Proper in Philadelphia, the original home of American men’s fashion. His goal? To dress “today’s and tomorrow’s captains of industry and thought leaders” in custom-tailored, US-made menswear.
In 2012, former music recording studio owner Douglas Martin joined Craig as co-managing partner. That was the same year that Commonwealth Proper started using Bookeo. They’ve grown rapidly every year since then, and have recently opened a second location in Atlanta, Georgia.
